Wood chips: Energy for a Secure Future

A story brought to you by

Renewable Heat in the Bavarian Village of Gaimersheim

A new district heating system will be operational this winter in Gaimersheim. The new heating network, which is to be operated exclusively with wood chips, will supply several public buildings such as the church and the parish hall with renewable heat in the future. A heat quantity of 350.000 kWh will be generated annually – this corresponds to a saving of around 35.000 liters of heating oil and a CO₂ reduction of just under 102.200 kilograms. The wood chips come from residual wood from the forest in the region.

A truly renewable and innovative project that comes at the right time and gives consumers peace of mind when considering their heating bills this winter!

The Story Behind

    • The need for renewable energy is huge – citizens are increasingly concious about climate protection and are also worried about the skyrocketing energy prices from impoted fossil fuels.
    • The project is realised by the district heating experts ENERPIPE and Götz Heizungsbau GmbH who provide the necessary technology and knowledge.
    • The planning of the project started in autumn 2021 and is now in the process to be fully realised.
    • The planning was conducted carefully to make sure to include public buildings like the local church to the network.
    • A modern control system ensures contstant monitoring and enables the optimisation of the process through adaptation of the necessary parameters.
