Bioenergy Supporting Local Roots in Croatia

For more than ten years, Bjelin Spačva d.o.o. has shown how sustainable wood processing can support regional development and local communities. Based in Vinkovci, in the heart of Slavonia, the company employs around 850 people, many of whom represent generations of families with deep-rooted expertise in the sector.

Spačva’s story is one of continuity and innovation. Building on a long-standing tradition of working with Slavonian oak, the company has expanded into five production units, including a sawmill, parquet and veneer factories, and a biofuel plant. Together, they form a local value chain that transforms regional resources into high-quality products exported to more than 30 countries. Among these products the company also produces high-quality ENplus®-certified pellets, providing their customers with sustainable and local energy solutions.

Spačva also plays a central social role in the region, offering stable employment, supporting local families, and providing an example of how knowledge evolves hand in hand with modern, sustainable production methods.

Spačva demonstrates how renewable energy and responsible forestry can go hand in hand, preserving both jobs and natural resources for future generations. Discover more with ENplus story!
