EU Yearly Energy Consumption

Spread Europe’s energy consumption across the calendar. Now count: in 2020, EU27 relies on non-renewable energy from January 1st to October 8th: 282 days in total. From October 9th, renewables provide for the remaining 84 calendar days with clean energy.

Bioenergy contributes to a staggering 49 days of this total, which means that from November 13th to December 31st, Europe can rely on bioenergy only for all of its energy needs!
