Renewable municipal and industrial wastes feedstock
Waste-to-energy is the 4th most important category of bioenergy feedstock used in Europe. Approx 410 installations in Europe rely on the yearly waste production of both industry and municipalities. In 2018, Europeans treated a total of 216 million tonnes of municipal waste, of which 28% went to waste-to-energy plants (60 million tonnes), besides recycling (47%) and landfill (23%) practices.
