Inspiring the New Generations: Asket’s Committments to Clean Energy

Brykietolandia is an inspiring ecological initiative led by Asket. Located in the village of Gniewkowo, Poland, Brykietolandia is part of Asket’s mission to promote eco-education, raise climate protection awareness, support clean energy, and provide quality education, all in alignment with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals 4 “Quality education” and 7 “Affordable and clean energy”.

A story brought to you by:

Brykietolandia is an inspiring ecological initiative led by Asket, a family-owned company with a 40-year legacy in the production of machinery for agro-biomass processing.

Each September, Asket hosts an “Open Day in Asket” during European Sustainable Development Week. This event welcomes students of all ages for hands-on workshops that demonstrate how everyday actions can impact the climate. Set near the beautiful Natura 2000-protected area, Brykietolandia is powered by a combination of straw briquettes – made from Asket’s own locally grown crops – and solar panels. This renewable energy mix powers the facility, while water retention ponds help preserve soil moisture and promote biodiversity.

At the heart of the project is the Biomasser straw briquetting machine, which Asket has manufactured since 2005 and delivered to over 30 countries worldwide. This machine played a key role in the EU Go-Grass Horizon 2020 project, where it was used to produce animal bedding in Sweden and biochar in Germany.

An interesting project called “Keep Mwanga Green” was conducted by Swedish company Glommers Miljöenergi AB in Tanzania near Kilimanjaro Mountain, where the Biomasser machine is used to produce briquettes from local grasses. These briquettes are then utilised for cooking.

Asket’s locally produced straw briquettes provide communities with an eco-friendly alternative to coal, serving as heating or cooking fuel and clean, dust-free animal bedding.

Through Brykietolandia, Asket not only engages future generations in ecological education but also demonstrates a powerful model of sustainable and independent energy in action. This initiative shows how thoughtful innovation can make a lasting positive impact on the climate and local communities.

Biomasser technology is promoted by the Polish Ministry of Climate and Environment as part of the GreenEvo project and it’s the first in Europe that received EU Environmental Technology Verification Statement these days realized as ISO14034.

About the campaign

The European Bioenergy Day campaign is powered by Bioenergy Europe and relayed across Europe by both national and international partners supporting the view that bioenergy is more than a renewable energy source, it is also a reliable path that will lead Europe to achieve its renewable energy transition.
